Bollywood actor, Saif Ali Khan along with his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan were spotted at the Mumbai airport leaving for Delhi to attend the last rites of Sunjay Kapur, late businessman and ex-husband of Kareena’s sister, Karisma Kapoor. They were spotted shortly after Karisma Kapoor. Later the couple was spotted at Sunjay Kapur’s funeral, showing support and unity for each other.

On the morning of June 19, 2025, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan were spotted at Mumbai airport, dressed in simple and traditional white outfits, as they left for Delhi to attend the last rites of Sunjay Kapur, businessman and ex-husband of Karisma Kapoor. The couple was seen walking, trying not to interact with the media at that moment. A video was uploaded on Instagram by Viral Bhayani which showed the couple leaving for Delhi to attend Sunjay Kapur’s funeral.

Upon arriving in Delhi, Kareena and Saif reached the Lodhi Road cremation ground, where Sunjay Kapur’s funeral was held in the evening. They joined Karisma Kapoor and her children, Samaira and Kiaan, as well as other close family members. Their presence showed not only emotional support but also a strong sense of unity within the Kapoor family. In a recent video uploaded by Pinkvilla on Instagram, Saif Ali Khan is seen attending the funeral.

Sunjay Kapur, chairman of Sona Comstar and a well-known figure in the business world and polo circles, tragically passed away on June 12, 2025. He collapsed during a polo match in London, United Kingdom. Just before collapsing, he said, “I have swallowed something”. Later, it was explained that the bee had likely stung the inside of his mouth or throat, causing the airways to swell up, which caused an anaphylactic shock. This type of allergic reaction is extremely dangerous because it can block breathing and stop the heart. Even though medical help was immediately provided to him, he couldn’t be saved. His death left everyone, including his friends and family in deep shock.

Kareena’s presence wasn’t just as an ex-sister-in-law but as a sister who stands beside her sibling during her hardest moments. Karisma Kapoor who was upset as a former wife, might have definitely got a lot of support seeing her sister, Kareena besides her. Saif quietly supported the two women, not just as a brother-in-law but also as a caring figure in the family. Kareena and Saif’s presence might have also given some support to Karisma’s children, Samaira and Kiaan.
