The government has allocated ₹1,550 crore from the civil aviation budget for land acquisition, rehabilitation, and resettlement. 2. Navi Mumbai International Airport, Maharashtra

Spread across 2,268 hectares, Navi Mumbai International Airport is designed to ease congestion at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The project, estimated at ₹16,000 crore, follows a public-private partnership funding model. With multiple runways and modern facilities, it is set to become a key aviation hub.

3. Parandur Greenfield Airport, Chennai

Covering approximately 4,791 acres, Parandur Greenfield Airport is being developed with a budget of ₹20,000 crore. It aims to enhance Chennai’s aviation infrastructure by complementing the existing Chennai International Airport, catering to rising passenger and cargo traffic.

Purandar Airport, spanning 2,400 hectares, is being constructed to accommodate Pune’s growing air traffic. With an estimated cost of ₹14,000 crore, the project is funded through both public and private investments. 5. Kalyani Airport, Kolkata

Spanning 1,500 acres, Kalyani Airport is set to ease congestion at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. With an estimated investment of ₹10,000 crore from both public and private sectors, this project aims to enhance air connectivity across eastern India.

6. Bhogapuram International Airport, Andhra Pradesh

Covering 2,200 acres, Bhogapuram International Airport is being developed at a cost of ₹4,592 crore. It is expected to boost economic growth and connectivity in the region, catering to both domestic and international travelers.

7. Mopa Airport, Goa

Mopa Airport, spread across 2,132 acres, has a projected cost of ₹3,000 crore. Designed to handle both domestic and international flights, it will feature state-of-the-art passenger amenities and significantly enhance Goa’s tourism and air connectivity.

To accommodate Bihar’s growing aviation needs, the government plans to expand Patna’s airport and develop a greenfield airport at Bihta, 32 km from the city via NH. 9. Dhalbhumgarh Airport, Jamshedpur

Dhalbhumgarh Airport, spanning 240 acres, is being developed with an estimated budget of ₹100 crore. This airport will provide Jamshedpur with direct air connectivity, boosting industrial and economic development in the region.

10. Halwara International Airport, Punjab

Currently under construction on 161.28 acres, Halwara International Airport is being developed at a cost of ₹70 crore. Once completed, it will be renamed Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha International Airport, further strengthening Punjab’s aviation network.
