An interview with Vidhi Chawla, Dietician & Founder of FISICO Diet and Aesthetic Clinic

In this enlightening interview, we delve into the world of nutrition and aesthetics with Vidhi Chawla, a renowned dietician and the visionary founder of FISICO Diet and Aesthetic Clinic.

With her expertise, she shares insights on healthy living, the importance of balanced diets, and her journey in transforming lives through holistic wellness.

What inspired you to become a dietician and establish FISICO Diet and Aesthetic Clinic?

Vidhi Chawla: Inspiration is from my love for science, body and health. So that really inspired me since my childhood. I always wanted to become a doctor. But yeah, and also wanted to do something like an entrepreneurship thing.

So that really inspired me. But I’m very happy that I help people with a holistic way to reverse their problems and lose weight, also, maintain their body, everything. And establish the FISICO Diet and Aesthetic Clinic.

I wanted to be an entrepreneur, being from a business-class family. So I wanted to set up my brand. So I founded FISICO. I started working in 2010 as a dietitian, and I founded FISICO in 2012. So yeah, from there the journey started.

How do you approach creating personalised diet plans for your clients at FISICO?

Vidhi Chawla: The personalised diet plans really start from the first, which is the proper detailed onboarding called digging deeper into their lifestyle, what they like, what they don’t like, when they wake up, and when they go to bed.

Then, accordingly, the personalised diet plan is made. So yeah, and every week, accountability is there. So the challenges are taken care of so that I can give them a more personalised approach according to the challenge they are facing. And they have a daily support also, like, you know, a chat call support, which gives a more personalised approach.

What are some common misconceptions about dieting and nutrition that you encounter?

Vidhi Chawla: The common misconception about dieting is that, you know, dieting itself is a word that is a misconception. I don’t know where it originated, but my motto is to remove this word from the world. And I educate my clients not to use the word “dieting”.

It’s all about eating healthy. People have this misconception that healthy eating means dieting. The truth about this is, you can eat your favourite food and still maintain your weight loss journey. So, dieting means eating a balanced meal with every kind of food in the correct amounts.

And people have the misconception about nutrition; many people are still not clear about calories and nutrition. So they see food by the calorie. We do not have to see food by calories. Food is empty calories; food is nutrition against calories.

So this is a misconception people miss, and they only look into calories and forget to keep in mind the nutrition part. Hence, they end up having medical issues. So, a slim body is not equal to a healthy body. That’s the thing.

What trends in nutrition and wellness are you currently seeing, and how do they impact your practice?

Vidhi Chawla: The trends are, I think, meal replacement drinks and fat meal replacement. Actually transitional age is affecting my practice, sometimes there is incomplete knowledge, everybody puts so many videos online, people get overwhelmed, and if you can frame it, and there is a lot of talk about meal replacement drinks, people think if they replace it, or take fat burning drink then it will be burnt, so either way this is a big thing which affects a lot.

How do you integrate aesthetic treatments with dietary advice at your clinic?

Vidhi Chawla: I am a certified skin care consultant, so skin care consultancy is a 360 degree program per day, and the aesthetics comes in the end, if someone is not achieving the results, and there are some skin care regimes and yoga and yoga also, then aesthetic comes, then it comes again, because I believe that everyone has a good body and healthy body and good skin.

Can you discuss the role of mental health in achieving dietary and aesthetic goals?

Vidhi Chawla: there is a major issue, if there is too much pigmentation or something, then it comes again, and if it is not getting cured, then the marks have gone, then peeling will have to be done, not half-heartedly, it is too much pigmentation.

If you do not take care, then there is also inflammation due to cortisol, whenever there is inflammation around the organs, then it will not affect the organs, and if it does not affect the organs, then it will affect you, and skin goals, Aesthetic goals, everything, so mental health is very important, hormonal imbalances we are seeing these days are connected to mental health.

What advice would you give to someone looking to start their journey towards a healthier lifestyle?

Vidhi Chawla: Just start with the nine-to-one rule first:

  1. Nine means 9000 steps.
  2. Eight means eight glasses of water.
  3. Seven means seven hours of sleep.
  4. Six means six minutes of mindfulness.
  5. Five means five colours of, you know, fruits, fresh fruits and vegetables.
  6. Four means four breaks in between the meals and all in the day.
  7. Three means three main short and, you know, healthy meals.
  8. Two means two hours of gap between dinner and sleep.
  9. One means one physical activity.

So they follow this, you know, rule of nine to one, and this will help them get into a healthy lifestyle. Don’t start with major changes to your diet and lifestyle which you cannot sustain for a long time. Slowly and gradually adapt everything.

Vidhi Chawla’s passion for nutrition and aesthetics shines through her work at FISICO. Her commitment to empowering individuals with knowledge and personalized care is inspiring.

As she continues to innovate in the field, her insights serve as a guiding light for those seeking a healthier, more balanced lifestyle. The future of wellness looks promising with leaders like her at the forefront.
