  • Explain their model and concept in simple words

Original Test Paper – 2024 DAT Mains

 

Task 1: Sensory / Observation Test (30 Mins)
Task 1: Audio Time: 10 minutes

Activity: An audio clip was played.

Instructions

  • Which sound is heard after the dialogue? Write two of its characteristics.
  • Which sound is heard throughout the clip except the noise mentioned above?
Task 2: Visual Time: 10 minutes

Instructions

  • Write the core concept of the video clip.
  • Suggest a title for the video clip.
  • Depict the video clip as a comic strip in 3 given boxes.
Task 3: Touch & Feel Time: 10 minutes

Activity: An object is placed in an opaque, black-colored cloth bag.

Instructions

Touch & feel the object in the black bag and answer the following:

  • Write the name of the object that was provided and the materials used in its components.
  • Draw the object with correct dimensions and appropriate proportions.
Test 2: Awareness / Empathy based Problem Solving (50 Mins)
Task 1: Based on a Situation Activity:

Rachana, a small girl, observes child beggars on the road while walking every day. (4 supporting images provided)

Instructions

 

  • Write the reason why you believe children are forced to beg.
  • Give your views on the above-mentioned reasons.
  • Draw what the child beggar sees (A5 size box).
  • Suggest steps Rachana can take to stop these children from begging.
OR
Task 2: Based on a Social Activity:

Observe the Amul poster related to the miner rescue incident in Uttarakhand.

Instructions:

  • Write 5 heroic actions that happened in this incident.
  • Imagine you are a/an___ (trapped miner/rescue team/politician/authorized person/anyone else) and choose one of the two given options to answer.
  • Sketch or write (in 5 lines) what you would do in the given box according to your chosen character.
Test 3: 3D Model Making (60 mins)
Test 3 Time: 60 minutes

Materials:

  • 10 paper strips
  • 6 U clips
  • 6 rubber bands
  • 6 bamboo sticks
  • 1 piece of cloth (1ft x 1ft)

Tasks:

 

  • A pentagon made of knots was presented; replicate it using no more than 5 paper strips.
  • Using at least 2 other materials (excluding paper strips) and the knot mechanism from the first task, create a functional object.
  • With the help of sketches and text:
    • Explain the model.
    • Explain the appropriateness of  the two materials used (other than paper strips).
