Passing Criteria and Grace Marks

To pass the CBSE exam, students must:

  • Score 33% marks in each subject (Theory + Practical).
  • Secure at least 33% overall in total.

CBSE also gives grace marks in some cases. If a student fails by a small margin in one or two subjects, CBSE may add a few extra marks to help them pass. These marks are added automatically and are not visible separately on the result.

CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation and Compartment Exams

Those students who believe their marks are incorrect may apply for either re-evaluation or rechecking:

Students are permitted to apply for rechecking of marks, receive photocopies of their answer sheets, or request full re-evaluation.
