As per latest report, Parth Samthaan who replaced Shivaji Satam in the show, is all set to quit the show due to low ratings.
CID is one of the most popular shows, and it has left everyone hooked on the screens. Last night, CID 2 makers released another interesting promo, wherein Shivaji Satam aka ACP Pradyuman re-enters the show. Makers had roped in Parth Samthaan, who replaced Shivaji Satam and this piece of news left everyone shocked.
Parth was introduced as ACP Ayushman after the death of Shivaji Satam’s character, but instead faced trolling. According to a report by Moneycontrol, CID 2 has been receiving quite low ratings. The show, which also streams on Netflix, is reportedly struggling to maintain strong TRP numbers. Makers are now considering bringing back Shivaji Satam as ACP Pradyuman in an attempt to recover lost viewership.
There are also rumours suggesting that Parth Samthaan might exit the show. However, Filmibeat reports indicate that may not be the case. “The rumors of Parth leaving might be false. The channel needs to understand that the easy availability of CID 2 online, along with competition from IPL 2025, has severely impacted its viewership. Shivaji Satam’s exit was likely just a promotional gimmick. We’ll have to wait a bit longer to see the full picture,” a source told the outlet.
Neither Parth Samthaan nor the show’s makers have confirmed any developments regarding his exit from CID 2. Earlier, Parth admitted he had doubts about taking on the role of ACP Ayushman. Speaking to Hindustan Times, he said, “Initially, I rejected the role of ACP Pradyuman because I didn’t relate to it. But the makers asked me to reconsider. I was also hesitant due to the show’s long-standing cast and the fact that they’d have to address me as ‘sir’ on screen. It felt a bit unusual and awkward.”
In the promo video, Shivaji Satam’s character, ACP Pradyuman, confronts ACP Ayushman aka Parth Samthaan for targeting him. Meanwhile, Abhijeet gets shot multiple times while rescuing a child. The netizens flooded the comment section with several messages. One user wrote, “Abhijeet is hero of cid if he died no one gonna watch cid then”. Another one wrote, “Waiting to see the back story of ACP Ayushmann”. Third user said, “Parth as a police officer is such an interesting change..Looking forward to uncovering the layers of Ayushmaan’s journey..Curious to know where Ayushmann path leads..”
Well, it will be interesting to witness new twists and turns in CID 2.
