Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar‘s new web series The Royals is now streaming on Netflix. There was a lot of buzz around the web series as it has top stars like Zeenat Aman, Sakshi Tanwar, Vihaan Samat, Milind Soman, Chunky Panday and others as supporting cast. The actors did intense promotion of the web series adding to the excitement of fans. However, it looks like the series has disappointed fans with its content.
The story of The Royals revolves around a Prince played by Ishaan Khatter and tech start-up entrepreneur played by Bhumi Pednekar. It is how their worlds collide and there is love. It is said to be a rom-com. On social media, many have praised Ishaan and Bhumi’s performances in the web series. Their chemistry too has received a thumbs up. However, quite a few are disappointed with the storyline of the web series.
It seems that the web series hasn’t lived upto the hype and anticipation. Some of the viewers also called it a ‘waste of time’. A comment about The Royals read, “So bollywood is so fu€king lazy. Can’t even make something good anymore. #TheRoyals seems like a bad khichdi of multiple western series. Wonder why stars like #SakshiTanwar and #ZeenatAman ji agreed to do this.” One of the reviews also called it a ‘waste of time’. The review read, “The Royals @NetflixIndia – Easily one of the worst shows ever made…Embarrassing script, no substance, and drama so fake it actually hurts….Bakwas show..why Netflix always agrees to make such a bekar show. Waste of time.” But fans are impressed with Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar’s chemistry in the show.

The Royals is directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana. It is produced under Pritish Nandy Communications banner. It has a total of 8 episodes. Mallika Sherawat was supposed to be a part of the series. However, she was replaced by Sakshi Tanwar.
