Priydarshan‘s upcoming movie Hera Pheri 3 is mired in a major controversy. Paresh Rawal, who initially came on board the project, chose to mark a sudden exit from the film after the announcement. Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty were to reunite for the film. Reportedly, they even shot for a promo. However, Paresh Rawal then decided to mark an exit from the film leading to a controversy. Akshay Kumar, who bought the rights of Hera Pheri, turned produced for the third instalment. The actor then reportedly sent a legal lawsuit to Paresh Rawal seeking Rs 25 crore in damages due to his exit from the film. Now, Paresh Rawal has responded to the same.
Paresh Rawal took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) account to share the latest update on alleged lawsuit. He wrote that his lawyer has sent an appropriate response explaining his rightful termination and exit from the film. Paresh Rawal wrote, “My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response all issues will be laid to rest.”

While Akshay Kumar has maintained silence on the controversy, director Priyadarshan has spoken at length about the same. In one of the interviews, Priyadarshan shared that Akshay Kumar was almost in tears as Paresh Rawal announced his exit from Hera Pheri 3. He mentioned that contracts were in place and all the three actors had even shot for a teaser. To Mid-day, the filmmaker said, “It was only after we unanimously agreed to do Hera Pheri 3 that Akshay bought the franchise’s rights. Akshay had tears in his eyes when he asked me, ‘Priyan, why is Paresh doing this to us?’ Akshay shouldn’t suffer financial losses because Paresh walked out on a whim. I understand that he will have to take whatever action is required.”
In one of the media interactions, Suniel Shetty too had expressed shock over Paresh Rawal’s exit from Hera Pheri 3. He had also mentioned that the film cannot be made without Baburao.
