With tensions between India and Pakistan heating up following the shocking and heartbreaking Pahalgam terror attack and India’s fierce response through Operation Sindoor, actor Saif Ali Khan put out a powerful, emotional message. Saif not only backed the Indian government, but also praised Armed Forces for efforts they invested in keeping its citizens safe.

“I stand in complete solidarity with, and support of, my government and their response to the slaughter of innocents in Pahalgam. My thoughts and prayers are with the families shattered by the violence of this most recent terror attack on our soil. I salute the bravery and courage of our armed forces and thank them for keeping us safe,” Saif Ali Khan mentioned in an official statement. He ended his message with a powerful shoutout for everyone to come together and stay united. “I pray we all stand united against terrorism. Jai Jawan, Jai Hind,” he added.

Saif’s strong and powerful message came after the heartbreaking April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, where 26 people — most of them tourists — sadly lost their lives. In retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack, India launched Operation Sindoor which destroyed nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. This also included the headquarters of the Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Indian Army had confirmed on May 9 that all wicked attempts of Pakistan Army will be responded with force. This statement was made hours after Indian armed forces had launched a counter-offensive and ‘neutralised’ Pakistani drone and missile attacks which had targeted multiple military sites, including in Jammu, Udhampur and Pathankot. “Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along entire Western Border on the intervening night of 08 and 09 May 2025. Pak troops also resorted to numerous cease fire violations (CFVs) along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir,” Indian Army had mentioned in a post on X with ‘Operation Sindoor’ tagline.

Meanwhile, Foreign secretary Vikram Misri in a press briefing said India and Pakistan have agreed to ceasefire from 5 pm on Saturday, May 10. “Instructions have been given on both sides to give effect to this understanding. The DGMOs will talk again on the 12th of May, at 1200 hours,” Mr. Misri said.
