Tarun Mansukhani’s comedy murder mystery Housefull 5 stars Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Nargis Fakhri, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Soundarya Sharma in main roles. The film has now surpassed Salman Khan’s Sikandar’s lifetime collection in a week and has now crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in 8 days. As per reports, the film has made Rs 212.76 crore worldwide since it was released on June 6.
Housefull 5 BEATS Sikandar
Housefull 5 has become one of the highest-grossing films of the year. According to a press release shared by the filmmakers, the movie has collected Rs 140.18 crore net in India and Rs 212.76 crore worldwide. The film collected Rs 6.60 crore in India and Rs 2.35 crore worldwide on Friday. Housefull 5 opened to Rs 24.35 crore net in India and Rs 11.11 crore worldwide collection. As per the trade website Sacnilk reported, the film earned Rs 133.25 crore net in India and Rs 204 crore worldwide. The film also stars Fardeen Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea and others in pivotal roles. It is now one of the highest grossing movies of Akshay Kumar’s career.
The movie has surpassed Salman Sikandar’s lifetime collections of Rs 184.6 crore. Now, Akshay’s starrer is all set to beat Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 which earned Rs 234.9 crore in its lifetime, and Mohanlal’s Thudarum which earned Rs 234.5 crore. While Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava still holds the top spot with its Rs 807.88 crore collection. Housefull 5 is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The story of the film is about Jolly who turns up to claim inheritance from a rich man but finds himself as a police suspect after he’s murdered on a cruise ship.
