Dharma Productions reacts to sexual misconduct allegations against Homebound cinematographer: ‘Did n…
Cinematographer Pratik Shah has been accused of inappropriate behaviour towards women. Dharma Productions has issued a statement on his alleged predatory behaviour.
The cinematographer of Homebound, Pratik Shah has been surrounded with controversy. He deleted his Instagram account getting accused of abuse and inappropriate conduct. The Dharma Productions has issued a statement about the same. The statement clarified that the POSH committee of the production house had not received any complaints against him from any cast or crew’ during the shoot of the film.
Dharma Productions stated in an official statement, “At Dharma Productions, we have a zero-tolerance policy against inappropriate behavior and sexual harassment towards any individual working with us in any capacity, and we treat sexual harassment cases very seriously.”
“Mr. Pratik Shah was a freelancer on the project Homebound and was working on it for a limited period. His engagement with us has been completed. During this limited period, our internal committee for POSH didn’t receive any complaints against him from any cast or crew on our film Homebound,” the statement read.
Abhinav Singh on Friday shared a note on his Instagram wherein he warned his female friends to be wary of the cinematographer. He also said that several women reached out to him about the cinematographer and shared his predatory behavior. Filmmaker-writer Srishti Riya Jain also shared a series of screenshots on her Instagram stories.
As per a report in THR India, four years ago, a young female cinematographer had approached the Indian Women Cinematographers’ Collective (IWCC) with a complaint against Shah after he asked for a nude picture. The publication also accessed the testimonials corroborating Abhinav Singh’s claims.
Pratik worked as a cinematographer on Homebound, the Indian feature film to screen at the Cannes Film Festival at the Un Certain Regard section. It is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra. The co-producers include Marijke de Souza and Melita Toscan Du Plantier. The movie starred Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor and Vishal Jethwa.
