A stampede-like situation took place near Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday. People were celebrating Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) win in IPL 2025. 11 people have been killed and 33 others injured in the chaos created due to the tragic incident. Celebrations had erupted across Bengaluru after the RCB defeated the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL final on Tuesday and won the IPL title after -a year’s wait. The happy moment turned into chaos after a stampede near the cricket stadium took place. RCB players were set to be felicitated by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Now, television actress Rupali Ganguly who plays the role of Anupamaa in Rajan Shahi’s popular show reacted on the incident. The actress has posted on social media and expressed condolences for the people who lost their lives. She wrote, “Absolutely heartbroken by the tragic stampede at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Prayers for the families who lost their loved ones and strength to the injured.”

Rupali’s tweet went viral on the social media and netizens have reacted to the same. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that least 2-3 lakh people had arrived at the venue and ordered a probe into the tragedy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences over the loss of lives and called it ‘absolute heartrending’. The BJP accused the Congress government of criminal negligence and also demanded the resignation of Siddaramaiah, deputy CM DK Shivakumar and others for poor management and crowd control.
