In a shocking turn of events, a London bound Air India plane crashed in Ahmedabad right after takeoff. The plane took off from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Thursday afternoon. As per reports, the plane took off at 1.39 pm and crashed 5 mins after. Around 242 passengers were onboard this flight. As per reports, the crash occurred near Meghaninagar area. The rescue operation is underway. Amid this, many celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra, Sunny Deol and others took to social media to express grief. Actor Salman Khan has even cancelled an event.
Salman Khan was to attend an event today organised by Indian Supercross Racing League. However, the actor and the organisers chose to cancel the event due to the shocking incident that took lives of many. Eeshan Lokhander, the founder of the league, spoke to the media present at the event and said, “As we all have just heard the tragic incident that has taken place today, Indian Supercross Racing League and Mr Salman Khan stand by the Nation United in this tough time. All our condolences and prayers are with the affected families.” He also added that this is not the time for celebration and he stands with the nation. Now, the event will be held on a later stage.
Meanwhile, actor Visnhu Machu also took to his social media account to express sorrow over the tragedy. He also announced that the trailer launch event of his upcoming movie Kannapa that stars Prabhas, Akshay Kumar and others has been postponed. The trailer was to release on June 13.

Talking to entertainment news portal Zoom, Rajeev Khandelwal called the incident quite tragic. He revealed that he has a personal connection with Ahmedabad as he studied there. He said, “It becomes even more sadder because you know that city. Having said that, it would’ve felt the same had it been any other city.” Our prayers are with the victims and their families.
