After a recent video of an alleged altercation between Shilpa Shetty and a tourist in a cafe in Croatia’s Hvar Islands went viral, the Bollywood actress has been facing backlash on social media. Amid the recent buzz, her husband, Raj Kundra, spoke to Hindustan Times and revealed the details about the incident.
During the recent chat, Raj Kundra clarified that the heated argument began after he discovered that their table had been double-booked by the restaurant manager and was given away to another group. This lead to a heated exchange in the process.
“I’d like to clarify the situation regarding the video circulating online. I had booked this particular restaurant a year in advance to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were informed that our table had been given away to another group due to what they claimed was a “double booking” error from the same agent,” Raj said.

As reported by Hindustan Times, Raj called the whole thing “deeply frustrating”. Raj further explained that when he and his family tried to raise the error, they were told to keep quiet.
“As someone who has also run restaurants, I found the handling of the situation deeply frustrating especially with my elderly parents, mother-in-law and 20 guests left waiting,” Raj added.
Raj – who had reportedly been planning the family vacation for over a year – was upset to see it getting ruined because of the restaurant’s mismanagement.
According to reports, the incident took place on June 9. Many claimed that the argument began when a foreigner, who was enjoying her food, asked Shilpa and her family to not talk loudly. One post claimed that Raj Kundra found the request offensive and replied, “You don’t know who we are”.
The video also captured chaos outside the restaurant. It is easy to hear voices and see people starting to gather around. At one moment, someone – who sounds like Shilpa says, “Don’t talk to us, we don’t want to hear you.” It’s hard to state if it’s actually her or someone else.
