She played the role of Tulsi and her on-screen chemistry with Amar Upadhyay aka Mihir Virani grabbed a lot of attention. However, after many years, Smriti reportedly made a grand comeback to TV screens in 2025 and will be seen repairing her role in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. Smriti Irani shares a secret related to Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2
In a recent conversation with Karan Johar on the show, We The Women of Mojo Story, Smriti Irani revealed a shocking secret attached to the popular daily show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2. Smriti revealed that season 2 was scheduled to happen back in 2014, but then she was appointed Minister of Human Resource Development by India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
She even revealed that when the makers planned to start work on Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2, they approached her and she had to serve in the Indian parliament as a cabinet minister. She decided to step down from the project and said, “If you look at the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi journey in totality, the most well-kept secret about it was I had a contract to do it again in 2014, and I walked away from it because I had to serve in the Indian Parliament as a cabinet minister. The set was ready, but there was a phone call from the Prime Minister’s office that you have to take an oath.”
Smriti Irani started shooting with Z+ security
As per a report by India Forums, Smriti who will be seen in season 2 of the show has been provided Z+ security on the shooting floors. The makers do not want to compromise on Smriti’s safety and security. Z+ security includes the highest level of security provided in India by CRPF commandos or other Central Armed Police Forces. Moreover, the mobile phones of the entire cast will be taped and they will be barred from using their mobile phones.
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2
Smriti Irani, Amar Upadhyay, Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, and more will reprise their roles in season 2. As per reports, the show will have only 150 episodes and was scheduled to premiere on July 3, 2025. The show has been delayed due to rework on the set.
