Guilt-free, rich, and velvety smooth ‘Healthy Chocolate Strawberry Mousse (No Cream – No Gelatin)’ uses paneer (feta), yogurt, chocolate, and strawberry. No cream, no sugar, and no cornstarch or no-gelatin. Perfect for a delicious treat filled with protein and a low-carb diet.
Healthy Chocolate Strawberry Mousse (No Cream)
Every Valentine, I’m trying to make the treats slightly healthier and easier to make that we can devour guiltfree!
So, If you’re craving a rich and indulgent dessert but want to keep it healthy, this recipe is a perfect choice!
Made with paneer (or feta), yogurt, two kinds of chocolate, and fresh strawberries, this mousse is packed with protein, calcium, and antioxidants while remaining light and satisfying.
Unlike traditional mousse recipes that rely on heavy cream, this version uses paneer (Indian cottage cheese) or feta for a creamy texture, yogurt for a slight tang, and two kinds of chocolate (white & milk).
Whether you’re looking for a high-protein dessert, a sugar-free treat, or a quick no-bake recipe, this chocolate strawberry mousse has got you covered cause:
- No Heavy Cream or Butter – A guilt-free alternative to traditional mousse.
- High in Protein & Calcium – Thanks to paneer (or feta) and yogurt.
- Naturally Sweetened – Uses honey or maple syrup instead of refined sugar.
- No-Bake & Easy to Make – A quick dessert ready in just 15 minutes!
- Perfect for Weight Loss – A satisfying dessert without the extra calories.
Wholesome Chocolate Strawberry Mousse Ingredients
To make this healthy chocolate strawberry mousse without cream, you’ll need:
• Paneer or Feta – Adds a creamy texture and boosts protein.
• Greek Yogurt– Provides a light and fluffy consistency.
• Chocolate – 2 different kinds, I’m using white and milk. You can use as per choice.
• Fresh Strawberries – Adds natural sweetness and flavor.
• Pistachio – for garnish and flavor – optional
How to Make Healthy Strawberry Mousse:
Step 1: Chop the Strawberries
- Wash the fresh strawberries under running water or in a bowl mixed with water + white vinegar to remove any impurities/chemicals.
- Pat them dry and keep them aside.
- Now take 8-9 strawberries and chop them into bite-size pieces, and keep them aside.
- Keep 3-4 strawberries for decoration on top of the mousse.
Step 2: Make the Mousse
- In a blender jar, add yogurt and paneer (feta).
- Add 2-3 tbsp chopped strawberries and 4 tbsp melted white chocolate.
- Blend to form a thick but smooth mousse-like consistency. (Don’t over blend as this will mak the batter very liquidy).
Step 3: Divide the Mousse into Different Chocolate Flavor
- Take half of the mouse and keep it aside as is for the white chocolate strawberry flavor.
- Take the remaining half and add 4 tbsp melted milk chocolate and blend. Once you get the desired milk chocolate flavor, keep this aside.
Step 4: Set the Mousse
- Now, take two separate serving bowls/pudding bowls.
- Pour the white chocolate strawberry mousse into one.
- Pour the milk chocolate strawberry mousse into the other.
- Take both bowls and refrigerate for 2-3 hours to help the mousse set or become slightly firm.
Serving the Chocolate Strawberry Mousse (No Cream):
Once the mouse is set to the desired consistency, remove them from the fridge.
Garnish with sliced strawberries, grated dark chocolate, and crushed pistachio before serving.
Serve fresh and enjoy
Tips for the Perfect Chocolate Strawberry Mousse
- For a Vegan Version: Use silken tofu instead of paneer and coconut yogurt instead of Greek yogurt.
- For Extra Fluffiness: Chill the mousse for at least an hour before serving.
- To Make it Keto-Friendly: Use stevia or erythritol instead of honey/maple syrup.
- For a Richer Texture: Add 1 tbsp of almond butter for extra creaminess.
- For a Crunchy Topping: Sprinkle chopped nuts, cacao nibs, or shredded coconut on top.
How to Store Chocolate Strawberry Mousse
Refrigerator: Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Freezer: Freeze in individual portions for up to 1 month. Let it thaw for a few minutes before eating.
Substitutes :
1. Can I Use Regular Yogurt Instead of Greek Yogurt?
Yes, but Greek yogurt provides a thicker texture. If using regular yogurt, drain excess liquid using a cheesecloth.
2. Can I Make This Mousse Without a Blender?
Yes! Mash the paneer well with a fork and whisk it together with the other ingredients until smooth.
3. Is This Mousse Good for Weight Loss?
Absolutely! It’s low in sugar, high in protein, and satisfying, making it a great dessert for weight management.
4. Can I Use White Chocolate Instead?
Yes, but white chocolate has more sugar and less cocoa, so it won’t have the same health benefits.
5. How Do I Make It Extra Chocolaty?
Add an extra tablespoon of cocoa powder or a drizzle of melted chocolate on top before serving.
This Healthy Chocolate Strawberry Mousse (No Cream) is a delicious, nutritious, and easy-to-make dessert perfect for any occasion.
Whether you’re looking for a sugar-free chocolate mousse, a high-protein treat, or a quick no-bake dessert, this recipe checks all the boxes.
