Is Barron Trump suffering from hair loss? What a hair specialist thinks

Barron Trump, world’s most eligible bachelor, was a cynosure of all eyes, at dad Donald Trump’s inauguration. The First Son merged into the bustling crowd full of prominent faces effortlessly and filled the space with his charm and warmth. Many of his moments from the event are going viral and being widely discussed by netizens. From him hugging Joe Biden to his reaction when President Donald Trump introduced him; everything about him is garnering attention.
One thing that caught the attention of netizens was Barron Trump’s apparent hair loss. While the spotlight is on his height usually, this time many speculated about his thinning hair. The internet soon began to speculate that Barron may be suffering from a genetic condition as Donald Trump.
A hair loss expert believes the observation may be correct and this could be a genetic condition.
Hair loss specialist Dr Gizem Seymenoglu while speaking to Longevita Hair Transplant said Donald Trump’s youngest son may be suffering from a bizarre form of pattern hair loss for males.

“I believe Barron is indeed suffering from hair loss – much like his own father. His frontal hair is likely thinning due to androgenetic alopecia or pattern hair loss, which is primarily a genetic condition that can be inherited from either parent,” she was quoted as saying by Irish Star.
Dr Gizem observed that both Donald and his son Barron may be suffering from female pattern hair loss which is less common in men. “Interestingly, it looks like both Donald and Barron have female pattern hair loss because their hair is thinning all over the scalp, and their hairlines haven’t exactly receded, which is typical of this type of hair loss,” she said.

“In contrast, male pattern hair loss begins with the recession of the hairline. However, as can be seen, both father and son have retained their frontal fringe while experiencing thinning at the top,” she explained.
The hair specialist said that stress could be one of the reasons behind this condition.
“Stress could be further contributing to Barron’s hair loss, given that he is still a teenager, albeit a very high profile one who has just been thrust into the spotlight as the son of the President,” he said.

What is female pattern baldness; can it affect males?

Female pattern baldness is a type of hair loss that affects women. Baldness occurs when the hair follicle shrinks over time, which leads to shorter and finer hair over time. As the time goes, the follicle does not grow new hair. Female pattern baldness usually starts after menopause. It’s reversible with treatment, which includes medications, red light therapy or styling techniques.
Female pattern hair loss involves thinning hair on the top and crown of the scalp, while the frontal hairline remains intact. It may at times affect men. Female pattern hair loss in men is a unique form of Androgenetic Alopecia that resembles FPHL in women.

Symptoms of female pattern hair loss in men

– Hair thinning at the top of the head and crown
– Hair thinning at the mid-frontal aspect of the scalp
– Preservation of the anterior hairline (hairline at the front of the head)
– Periods of increased hair shedding

Male pattern hair loss

It is the most common cause of hair loss in men and can begin early. At times, it starts in your late teens or early twenties. However, more often than not, it appears by 50 years of age. More than half of white men have a visible sign of male pattern hair loss like noticeable thinning, a receding hairline, or balding, according to the American Academy of Dermatology Association.

Trump manages hair loss with prostate-related drugs

President Donald Trump takes a prostate-related drug to promote hair growth, his longtime physician, Dr. Harold N. Bornstein, told the New York Times in a series of recent interviews. Trump takes a small dose of the drug, finasteride which is marketed as Propecia to treat male-pattern baldness.
