AYURVEDIC WEIGHT LOSS TIPS DINCHARYA

Avoid Napping during day time.

  1. Heavy Breakfast (8:00 AM – 9:30 AM): This aligns with the body’s peak digestive fire (Agni) in the morning, allowing for optimal nutrient absorption. A substantial breakfast provides sustained energy for the day.
  2. Moderate Lunch (Noon): Continuing to capitalize on the strong midday Agni, a balanced lunch with vegetables, grains, and meat provides essential nutrients and fuel.
  3. Light Dinner (Before 7:30 PM): As Agni diminishes in the evening, a light dinner eases the digestive burden, promoting restful sleep.Soups and salads are easily digestible, minimizing the risk of indigestion or discomfort.

MINDFUL EATING

Ayurveda places great importance on “Agni,” the digestive fire. Mindful eating helps strengthen Agni, ensuring proper digestion and assimilation of nutrients. When we eat mindfully, we allow our bodies to effectively break down and absorb food.

HYDRATION

Ayurveda suggests that warm water can aid in the breakdown of fat molecules in the body. Ama is considered undigested food and metabolic waste that can clog channels in the body. Warm water helps to flush out these toxins, promoting detoxification and supporting weight loss.

INCOMPATIBLE MEAL PAIRINGS

Improper food combinations can disturb the balance of these Doshas, leading to imbalances that can contribute to weight gain or difficulty losing weight. Kapha dosha is related to weight gain, and improper food combinations may increase Kapha.

Combinations to Avoid (According to Ayurveda):

  1. Milk with sour fruits.
  2. Milk with fish.
  3. Yogurt with meat.
  4. Melons with milk or grains.
  5. Honey heated.

EAT SEASONALLY

Ayurveda emphasizes “Ritucharya,” which outlines dietary and lifestyle adjustments according to seasonal changes. This principle acknowledges that our bodies are influenced by the environment. Each season has unique qualities that affect our doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha). Eating seasonal foods helps to balance these doshas.
