The temperatures are sky-rocketing every single day. It’s possibly been the hottest summer of my life, and apparently of the National Capital region (New Delhi), where I live. Summers have been quite the bummer!
Last weekend when we were driving back home in the afternoon, our car temperature showed 52 degree celsius. That’s a bizarre 125 degrees Fahrenheit!!! Global warming is more than real, folks.
My outdoor nature jaunts and morning walks have come to a grinding halt. I miss the company of Momma Nature, but thanks to our balcony and terrace plants there is some redemption. But my precious plants are also wilting and burning in this sizzling heat, despite watering them well and on many days twice a day.
Have been refuelling the bird feeders and water bowls thrice a day too. Might be of respite to the parched critters, outdoors.
Partially Empty Nesters
Last weekend, the older one chose to gather wings and move to the city next door. Closer to work and saves the long commute every day, especially in the sweltering heat.
The nest is partially empty, again. The newly minted 16 year-old returned from boarding after three good years, only recently. And now to have the older one fly out – such are the ever changing nuances of life. We miss the older one, but find solace in the fact that they are just a city away.
Summer, Won’t Let you Play Bummer
The 16 year-old and I, dappled in art, after a longish break. We hope to keep the rhythm going.
I tried to capture a crazy, abstract mood of the Northern Lights with the unexpected intention of manifesting them in my life, sometime soon.

Furry Girls and their Shenanigans
Even our furry girls have been chilling and sleeping all day; close to the air-conditioning and gobbling up too much water melon, only to throw up later. This just happened. I under calculated and gave Laila way too much, after all she is a miniature Shitzu.

Mishka, who is otherwise super energetic and playful; has just been sleeping and eating. She is forever hungry. I’ll attribute it to the treats the younger one keeps sneaking her in with. 😉

Laila our soon to be octogenarian (11 years-young now) alternates between sleep and play. I guess, the tables have turned. It’s a joy to see Laila fight over her toys, or scratch our toes playfully with her sharp nails (well that’s not too joyful, painful yes!).
After years of grieving our furry girl, Cotton, and challenging various health issues, Laila is finally back to being herself. *Knocks wood* vehemently. May she continue to stay healthy, happy and playful. So it is!
Sweet Sixteen and a Thriving Twenty-Six
My two children are June babies. The older one will be 26 in a few weeks. The younger one, like I said in my last post, just turned 16. The lovely blueberry cake made by one of our condo, home bakers was a hit. It was a sweet, quiet birthday surrounded with dear ones.

Sweet Summer, then!
Well, won’t let summer be a bummer. 😉
Will continue to count all the blessings and be grateful for what is. The indoors, the air-conditioning, the summer coolers to sip on, meals that include salads, and cooling foods, family and furry friends by my side to boot!
I will be away for a week. If I don’t visit your blogs in the interim, rest be assured I will, for sure, once I’m back.
Stay indoors, if you happen to be in a scorching climate, else enjoy the beautiful gifts of summer that are coming your way, by staying outdoors as much as possible.
Love, light, peace and laughter galore,
Natasha

Signing off with a summer playlist. Enjoy. xoxo
