Plus an astro-tarot forecast, journaling prompts, and Womanrunes reading for the Leo full moon.

The February 2025 full moon falls in the sign of Leo. The bold and dynamic Leo archetype infuses us with a passionate zest for living. It is the archetype of the fiery creative who is confident and unafraid to stand in the spotlight. But this infectious dynamic can also succumb to its shadow aspects of overbearing pride, drama and arrogance.
Spiritually, the Leo archetype teaches the principle of creative manifestation. Clarity of thought and focused energy, which points to the spiritual principle that your beliefs about life tend to shape your life. You can see this spiritual principle at play with a regular gratitude practice. When you cultivate an active gratitude practice, you tend to experience a shift in your life and circumstances. And while your life may not change dramatically, your outlook to life can certainly shift.
This full moon also marks a time of endings and new beginnings. It can bring up old issues, patterns, or blocks for another go-around or a final resolution. Healing work — be it therapy or self-healing techniques — will be helpful during this time. Community outreach and support are also highlighted during this lunation.
Astro-Tarot influences for the Leo full moon
To throw some more light on the February full moon astrology, let’s take a look at the astro-tarot influences of this lunation. The Leo full moon falls in decan 3, which is represented by the Seven of Wands. This is to be interpreted in conjunction with Strength, which is associated with Leo.

The Daily Pause Oracle Deck
I designed this beautiful, 40-card oracle deck to bring in some stillness, to give us a word or an idea to reflect on as we go about our day.
Supported by the four elements – earth, air, fire, water – and a carefully thought-out structure that connects the cards, The Daily Pause oracle will help you to listen to and trust your own inner knowing.
There’s no learning curve involved with using this deck. Just get quiet, shuffle the cards, pull one out, and reflect on the word you’re presented with.
The wands speak to me of fire. Of creative fire. Of what it takes to live our creative dreams. Our small daily actions — spending a few moments, or hours, on creative work; cooking a delicious meal; creating little spaces of beauty — these are just some of the ways in which we live our creative dreams.
It takes courage, though, to live our dreams. We need to lay down some ground rules. To set up some boundaries. To stand our ground when distractions and fears come a-calling. To remind ourselves of what is truly important, of what gives us life force and vitality and joy. And we need to get creative with how we go after those dreams, especially when times seem tumultuous and things seem uncertain.
It is in these times that rooting into our creativity and our creative expressions becomes ever more urgent. Ever more vital.
It’s easy to give in to apathy, to think that these small acts do not matter. But they do — they are how we protest. How we resist. How we refuse to give in to the despair. To take back our attention and our agency from the forces that seek to overwhelm us. By creating pockets of calm, of presence and attention; by making things with our hands, with our words; we take our power back.
It may seem miniscule, but throughout history, it is the artists and the craftsmen who have been the culture makers and the way showers. By protecting our spirits, filling our creative wells, we make the space to think, to plan, to strategize, to come up with plans and means and ways to resist, to stake our small claim on the thing we have agency over — our own selves, our minds, our spirit.
As Victor Frankl wrote in Man’s Search For Meaning, “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”

Every full moon, I will draw a Womanrune for us, as a theme, a learning, a focus point for the days until the next full moon rolls around. This month, I drew 14: The Cauldron. The Rune of Alchemy.

This is such a wonderful rune to journey with during this moon cycle, and so in alignment with the themes of this full moon.
I’m thinking of the cauldron as a vessel, a space holder, into which we can throw in our fears and anxieties and worries. Stir them around, let them bubble and stew, turn into steam, into a reduction. And into the cauldron we can throw our hopes and dreams, our wishes and our longings, and let them crowd out the anxiety, the worry.
As these two ingredients mix together in the alchemical fires of the cauldron, what medicine may they make?
Something to ponder, perhaps?
Reflect on the image of The Cauldron and the themes of the astro-tarot write-up. Stir in the results from your tarot spread, maybe even some of the themes that came up for you from journaling. What bubbles up for you as you contemplate this rune?
The Womanrunes were created by Shekhinah Mountainwater in 1987. There were originally no written interpretations available for these runes, other than the name and one word meanings, which offer tremendous scope for personal interpretation. The remastered original hand drawn Womanrunes can be purchased here. Molly Remer subsequently wrote Womanrunes: A Guide to Their Use and Interpretation, based on her own meditations and interpretations of the runes. Her book is available on Amazon and Etsy.
Tarot spread for the February 2025 Leo full moon
Here’s a tarot spread to tap into the energy of this full moon.
There are two ways in which you can use this spread, depending on where you need more clarity/support:
You can identify an area that you want to bring some awareness to — career, wellness, creative goals, etc. — and read the cards for the specific goal that you have in mind.
You can also read the cards through a more political/‘what’s happening in the world right now’ lens, and see how you can take a stand against it. This doesn’t imply a need for activism, but rather, a way to show up, to make sense of, to be. The personal is, after all, the political, and we sometimes need to figure out how we can best navigate the chaos around us.

1. Stand your ground: What boundaries do you need to create at this time?
2. Harness your fire: Where do you need to direct your energy?
3. Tend the flame: How can you keep your fire burning bright?
4. Mamma moon says: This is always an encouraging message
