For the first time, Rashtrapati Bhavan has approved a wedding to be held on its historic grounds.CRPF Assistant Commandant Poonam Gupta, who led the all-women contingent at the 74th Republic Day Parade, will marry on February 12 at this renowned location. President Droupadi Murmu, recognizing Gupta’s exceptional service, personally gave her approval for the event.
Poonam Gupta, serving as a Personal Security Officer (PSO) at Rashtrapati Bhavan, will hold her wedding at the prestigious Mother Teresa Crown Complex.The ceremony, set for February 12, will be a private affair, attended by close family and friends. Strict security measures will be implemented for all guests attending the event.
Known for her dedication to women’s empowerment, Poonam Gupta is a role model for many in her field. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, a master’s in English Literature, and a BEd from Jiwaji University in Gwalior. Gupta made a name for herself in the CRPF by securing the 81st rank in the 2018 UPSC CAPF exam. Before her current role, she served in a Naxal-affected area of Bihar.
