Doomsday Cast Is Not Finalized

The Avengers Doomsday cast might’ve been partially revealed, but Kevin Feige just made it clear that things are far from locked in.

With names like Robert Downey Jr. confirmed as Doctor Doom and a handful of major Marvel heroes already announced, fans were hyped –  but still scratching their heads over all the big names missing from the five-hour cast reveal. During a recent update, Feige said flat-out that the Avengers Doomsday cast isn’t complete, and the story still has more to unfold before the cameras start rolling.

That means we’re in for even more star-studded surprises. The upcoming MCU crossover is shaping up to be massive, pulling together the Avengers, Wakandans, the Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and even the original X-Men for an all-out war against Doctor Doom.

According to Feige, this plot has been in the works for a while –  and while some fans theorized it would be Avengers vs X-Men before teaming up, Feige hasn’t totally shut that down either. He’s leaving the door open for chaos, which fits the vibe of what’s coming.

Right now, the confirmed Avengers Doomsday cast is still stacked. You’ve got Chris Hemsworth returning as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, and Letitia Wright carrying on as Black Panther. Then there’s Sebastian Stan’s Bucky, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, and even Tom Hiddleston as Loki. But what really set fans buzzing was the confirmed return of OG X-Men actors like Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden. It’s giving full multiversal madness – especially with Pedro Pascal now set to play Mister Fantastic.

And of course, the biggest jaw-dropper: Robert Downey Jr. stepping into the role of Doctor Doom. It’s a major shift for the actor who once defined Iron Man, and it raises a million questions. Is he playing a variant? A Doom from another reality? No answers yet, but the reveal already has the internet in meltdown mode.

But wait – where’s Tom Holland? Or Hailee Steinfeld? Chris Pratt? Hugh Jackman? Those names were not part of the initial rollout, and fans noticed immediately. Feige didn’t confirm or deny their inclusion, which only adds fuel to the theory that Marvel is holding back some massive reveals for Comic-Con or D23 later this year.

When asked about all the buzz and secrecy, the Russo Brothers (who are directing Avengers Doomsday) gave a glimpse into how they’re planning the production. They said a big chunk of the movie will be filmed on soundstages to avoid leaks, and that any location work is being kept very locked down to stop spoiler-hunters. Makes sense – they’ve been burned by set photos before, and with a movie this huge, they’re not taking chances.

The Russo Brothers also teased that they’re trying to top their own work. “We have to beat those younger versions of ourselves,” Joe Russo said. “We have to outdo those movies, or at least take you on an equally epic ride.” Anthony echoed that, saying they’re pushing hard to deliver a full-on cinematic event. And with a six-month shoot planned for Avengers Doomsday, followed by Avengers Secret Wars in 2027, this is clearly the biggest swing Marvel’s taken since Endgame.

Even though the Avengers Doomsday cast isn’t finalized yet, what we do know is enough to start building some serious hype. Feige and the Russos are keeping plenty under wraps, but with multiple superhero teams colliding, variant villains, multiverse drama, and that massive ensemble of A-list actors, this movie is gonna be wild.

Plus, it’s all leading into Secret Wars, which might just be the ultimate sendoff for the multiverse saga. If you thought Endgame was big, Feige is promising something even crazier. And knowing Marvel, they’re not going to let a moment like this fall flat.

So what’s next? We wait. For more cast announcements, for an official trailer, and for Marvel to finally drop the full scope of what Avengers Doomsday will deliver. But if this partial reveal is any indication, Marvel’s cooking something that’s gonna break the box office and the internet.

Got theories on who else might join the Avengers Doomsday cast? Think Marvel’s holding back the biggest reveals for later? Hit the comments and let’s talk. And keep an eye on Marvel’s official site and our own coverage for the latest drops, behind-the-scenes peeks, and all the wild speculation that comes with it.
