This year, International Jazz Day celebrations are lighting up across the world, with Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, serving as the host city. A star-studded lineup is in store in the Gulf city on Apr. 30, 2025—but India isn’t far behind. With more than 15 events leading up to Jazz Day, here’s where you can catch the nearest gig.
Embrace – International Jazz Day
When: Apr. 25 and 26, 2025
Where: Dorian House, Auroville
Closing their season with the globally-marked event, Auroville’s Dorian House will host two days of jazz at their venue. On Apr. 25, an audio-visual, cinema-meets-jazz experience comes via the duo QuosEgo, comprising pianist Aman Mahajan and guitarist Dhani Muniz, plus Goa-based pianist Akshada Krishnan performing a trio set with Muniz on bass and drummer Rohit P.S.
On day two, Apr. 26, pianist Matt Littlewood, along with bassist Rolf Bosbach and drummer Raul Mattia, perform a set of originals and reimagined standards as Beginnings. Auroville-based jazz act Sage for the Ages also performs, previewing material from their upcoming album R-evolution.

Bengaluru Jazz Habba
When: Apr. 26, 2025
Where: The Koramangala Club, Bengaluru
Three city-based bands take to the stage at the Koramangala Club for the fourth edition of Bengaluru Jazz Habba, which focuses on local talent. This year, the lineup includes jazz, funk and fusion act Derek & The Cats, seasoned band The Chronic Blues Circus and disco, R&B and funk-informed pianist and singer-songwriter Tarang Joseph.

Braz Gonsalves Quintet
When: Apr. 26, 2025
Where: Martin’s Siesta Resort, Parra, Goa
A charity fundraiser gig as well as a celebration of International Jazz Day takes place in Goa, with veteran saxophonist Braz Gonsalves Quintet taking the stage in Parra. He’s joined by Yvonne Gonsalves on vocals, Dominic Pereira on keys, Jerushun D’cruz on drums and Mark Fernandes on bass. A portion of the show’s proceeds will go to the Little Lights Foundation, which helps underprivileged children in Goa by providing early learning, medical camps, and an extensive extracurricular program.

International Jazz Day – Bengaluru
When: Apr. 25 to 30, 2025
Where: Multiple venues, Bengaluru
Jazz Day celebrations started early in Bengaluru, with a few shows taking place on Apr. 20 in smaller venues. This week, there’s a lot more in store, from Max Mueller Bhavan in Goethe Institut hosting five bands (including an Afro-Caribbean swing act) on Apr. 25, to fusion act MoonArra celebrating the women of jazz at Jagriti Theatre on Apr. 26. While workshops and showcase sets by young music school students will also be held at other venues, it culminates in a slew of performances on Apr. 30 at Alliance Francaise de Bangalore. That includes sets by Abhinav Verma Flamenco Quartet, MoonArra and Deep Blue Brass Band, among others.

Tamil Jazz Collective
When: Apr. 26, 2025
Where: Ram’s Musique, Bengaluru
Tamil vocals from singer-composer Harini Iyer and jazz harmony from guitarist Sahib Singh (of Carnatic-informed jazz fusion group Jatayu) form The Tamil Jazz Collective, who will take centre-stage at Ram’s Musique Experience for an intimate gig.

Duo Soiree, Sanjay Divecha Trio
When: Apr. 27, 2025
Where: The Cube, Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), Mumbai
NMACC’s The Cube venue celebrates International Jazz Day over the weekend with two artists performing at the intimate space. Duo Soiree, comprising vocalist Shreya Bhattacharya and pianist Clement Rooney, draw from jazz, blues, pop, and R&B. Veteran guitarist Sanjay Divecha will take over the stage soon after, performing with bassist Shashank Das and drummer Adrian D’Souza.

SAS Trio, Paddy Y Los Gatos
When: Apr. 27, 2025
Where: Studio Theatre, Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), Mumbai
The Studio Theatre at NMACC adds another jazz performance to the lineup, making it a bumper night for fans. From reimagined standards to salsa tunes, the night hosts jazz guitar trio SAS, comprising guitarist Siddharth Gautam, drummer Aditya Dutta and bassist Sonic Shori, plus vocalist Swikrity Singh.
The second half brings in Latin jazz and salsa with Paddy y Los Gatos, led by Pradyumna Singh Manot aka Paddy. Cuban rhythms and Afro-Caribbean vibes are in store, as Paddy is joined by vocalists Ahona, Arcana, and Vidisha, bassist Aditya, and percussionists Supratim and Surajit.

International Jazz Day – Mumbai 2025: Tribute to Ustad Zakir Hussain

Where: St. Andrew’s Auditorium, Bandra
The evening will showcase a mix of classic jazz standards and several artists’ own projects as well as jazz fusion. Stalwarts such as pianist Louiz Banks, percussionist Sivamani, drummer-producer Ranjit Barot, guitarist Sanjay Divecha, bassist Sheldon D’silva, drummer Adrian D’Souza and more.

Being Human

Where: The Piano Man, Eldeco Centre, New Delhi
New Delhi’s jazz mainstay venue, The Piano Man, marks International Jazz Day with the international band Being Human, described as a pan-European jazz quartet that blends modern jazz with folk traditions and spontaneous improvisation. The band comprises Lithuanian guitarist Mindaugas Stumbras, Italian bassist Michelangelo Scandroglio, U.K. pianist Fergus McCreadie and Italian drummer Mattia Galeotti.

International Jazz Day

The celebrations continue in full swing the weekend after International Jazz Day, with ace guitarist Adil Manuel keeping up his annual tradition of curating a diverse jazz offering at the club venue. This year, the lineup includes Adil Manuel Collective with vocalist Shubhangi C, flautist Rajeev Raja Combine, Japanese DJ Aoki Yabaiiii, singer-songwriter Shrae & The Quartet Life Crisis, funk and hard bop-informed act Dig Dis and ambient artist Refract, among others.
