Taylor Swift is done staying silent when it comes to her safety.
The singer has officially filed for a temporary restraining order against a man she says won’t stop harassing her, and the details are flat-out terrifying. According to a legal declaration obtained by E! News, Swift claims a Colorado man named Brian Jason Wagner has repeatedly shown up to her Los Angeles home over the past year, bringing threats, delusion, and danger right to her doorstep.
In her own words, Swift lays it all out, Wagner allegedly believes they’re in a relationship, insists she’s the mother of his child, and has even claimed he lives at her property. “None of it is true,” Swift stated in her declaration, calling his behavior completely disconnected from reality. She said she now fears for both her own safety and that of her family.
This all started in 2024, when Wagner first appeared at her LA residence. But it wasn’t just a one-time thing. According to Swift, he came back several times in July of that year. On at least one of those visits, he was carrying a glass bottle, something she clearly felt could have been used as a weapon. And just last month, Wagner returned again, this time telling Swift’s security he was “checking on a friend.” Obviously, Swift wasn’t buying it. “This is entirely untrue,” she wrote.
Things escalated even further when Swift’s security team ran a background check. That’s when they discovered Wagner had previously served time in prison, and while he was incarcerated, he had sent Swift letters talking about their supposed romantic relationship and making up stories about their personal life. It gets even creepier: Wagner reportedly managed to change his driver’s license to reflect Swift’s LA address as his own. On top of that, he sent her staff “hundreds” of emails filled with threats and even tried to reroute her mail to his home.
“I have no relationship with Mr. Wagner, and I have never met nor communicated with him,” Swift wrote in her declaration. She added that the situation became even more concerning after Wagner’s visits in May and his threatening messages to her staff. “The fact that both of these recent visits and Mr. Wagner’s inappropriate and threatening communications to my staff about me have escalated in recent weeks creates a fear of imminent harm,” she said.
Thankfully, Swift was granted a temporary restraining order in Los Angeles. The court’s decision now blocks Wagner from coming anywhere near her home, places of work, or even her vehicles. E! News attempted to contact Wagner’s legal team for a comment, but so far, no response.
Unfortunately, this isn’t Swift’s first experience with stalkers. In 2024, during her Eras Tour stop in Germany on July 17, a man was arrested after showing up at the venue with a ticket. Police said they were acting on tips from the event organizers, and he was detained until Swift safely left the city. His identity was never made public.
The singer’s fear of stalkers isn’t new either. Back in a 2019 interview with CBS Mornings, Swift spoke about why she keeps her location private. “I try not to ever really say where I am, since all my addresses are on the internet,” she said. “People tend to show up uninvited, like dudes who think we have an imaginary marriage.” She also admitted that stalkers have shown up at her home armed, proving this isn’t just a one-time thing; it’s been a long-term, ongoing threat in her life.
Even as she navigates this terrifying ordeal, Swift has been spotted trying to live her life. She’s recently been photographed in Florida, spending time with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, as he gears up for the next NFL season. She’s also been seen in New York, though she’s always careful not to stick around in one place for too long.
Between dealing with fame and constant public exposure, Swift’s reality is anything but normal. Her experience shows just how serious stalking and harassment can be, no matter how big your name is.
