Sometime back, I saw my friends, a bunch of YouTubers I follow, talk about Storytel in their videos and how cool the App was so I thought I will give it a shot myself; I must confess that what started as an experiment has now turned into quite an experience. It has been close to two years that I am using Storytel and Loving it, it’s a perfect partner for a book lover like me. It has truly levelled up the experience one can get by listening to the audiobooks.
The best part? My self-proclaimed, self-monitored and eventually self-distorted ban on buying books no longer comes into picture.
Undoubtedly, the pleasure of reading a book can’t be substituted by an audiobook but it can be an immense add on. I found listening to audiobooks can be an enthralling, evocative experience. Audiobooks have proven remarkably useful for enhancing vocabulary, providing guidance if we struggle with reading and developing the interest and capabilities of the younger generation. I recommend reading and listening to the same book to help you improve that aspect.

Storytel lets you be the boss of your experiences. It comes with a lot of features for one to get the best experience. The features I like most about Storytel are the easy availability for the books, you can easily find almost every book in their library in several categories like Fiction, History, Sci-fi, Thrillers and much more, you name it? They have it!

I love how we can adjust the speed according to our preferences, meaning you can enjoy the book at your preferred speed of narration. One can also bookmark and start from where they have left. It has a lot of perks like you can listen to your favourite book anytime like if you’re cleaning, walking, biking, or stuck somewhere, this app will make your day happier and a lot easier.
From vocal narration of our beloved time-tested books to marvellous takes on comparatively younger ones, Storytel has a unique blend where everyone can find something in correspondence to their taste and liking. It becomes more exciting when your favourite celebrity or author reads books to you. Voices narrating stories include national and foreign celebrities such as Konkana Sen Sharma, Tom Hanks, Anupam Kher, Kate Winslet, and writers such as Michelle Obama, Stephen Fry. What an experience! Storytel offers that too.
Storytel India also allows existing and emerging writers a forum to create original series in Indian languages that immerse listeners in a fresh and exciting world of storytelling.
One of the most interesting aspects for me is the option of exploring books in different languages. It offers a varied collection of audiobooks, both original and acquired. 2,00,000+ titles are currently available in the store, which is available in 12 different languages English, Hindi, Marathi, Urdu, Bengali etc. Especially when it comes to languages you can understand, but are not habituated to reading page after page, Storytel comes in handy. Lately, I have been enjoying their Hindi collection, thereby making up for not reading Hindi Titles.
Saved my most favourite feature about Storytel for last, now I can listen to some amazing New York Times Best Sellers on Storytel Just for Rs 299. I loved listening to A long walk to water, The Song of Achilles, Normal People by Sally Rooney and some of the non-fictions too like The Subtle art of not giving a fuck, I highly recommend them and would to see you guys try them too. I am sure we all spend way more for just purchasing one single book, now you have the access to unlimited books at the lesser, if not, the same cost! How cool is that! All bestsellers in Just 299 per month. I believe you should certainly give it a try!

The reason I would like to recommend ‘The Henna Artist by Alka Joshi’ to you all is, I was recently listening to it on Storytel while completing my household chores without it hampering my routine and spending hours on reading one book. I believe audiobooks make a perfect buddy for most of us,as we are always on the move!
The other thing that I absolutely love about their audiobooks is the way they are narrated, it adds a lot of emotions and feelings to the book, thus bringing the book alive. I think it’s amazing that they also have a few books that are narrated by the author itself, imagine listening to the author narrating the emotions of the book, you simply feel a lot more connected to the book.
Somebody reading a book for you is a really different experience that I enjoyed with Storytel. The narrator picks on every happy, sad, thrill as an emotion and this makes the reading so much richer! Just last week I was listening to “ Mission Balakot” , their original series and I could literally feel chill listening to it !
Isn’t it intriguing? Sign up for Storytel and enjoy getting thousands of books from a variety of genres on your bookshelf at any time and any place. Download books to your tablet to read offline, switch across books instantly, or discover a book you never thought you’d like. With Storytel, you can discover your own fantastic story. Looking forward to hearing your experience.
