Hi Miro and Peter, tell us about your journey towards founding Personeo.ai. How did it all begin?

We have been developing B2B products for over 8 years, with a strong focus on HR solutions. The idea for Personeo.ai emerged from direct conversations with customers using our previous modules in the CultureBoard suite. During this time, we explored applications of LLMs (Large Language Models) and AI, which led us to uncover even greater value in Learning & Development (L&D) — particularly in training communication soft skills through AI-driven roleplays.

We need to look back to the roots of learning. The origin of learning was having a teacher who would teach you, discuss things with you, and correct you if you were wrong or didn’t understand something. That remains the most effective way of learning—engaging in meaningful dialogue.

The switch to videos and online courses wasn’t because they are more effective, but because there are more people willing to learn than there are teachers available. AI enables us to return to those roots, to the most effective way of learning: having a private teacher.

With AI roleplays, you can learn and practice anything. It’s like having the smartest people in the world available to guide you, and you can simply tell them what you want to learn or practice.

We’ve productized this into a platform where anyone can create their own teacher for whatever they want to learn and practice.

Who is Personeo.ai designed for, and what problem does it solve?

Personeo.ai targets L&D managers in midmarket and enterprise companies across white-collar industries such as banking, telecommunications, IT, and scaling startups. The core challenge we address is the lack of best-practice communication skills among employees. Companies often invest significant L&D budgets in external training providers, Learning Management Systems (LMS), or video courses, which are predominantly content-based. Personeo.ai shifts this to action-based learning — offering interactive, immersive training that is ten times more cost-effective and impactful than traditional methods.

How big is the team, and why is it well-suited for this project?

We are a team of six, with over a decade of experience in the HR software industry. Our founders and team members have extensive backgrounds in HR tech and have previously worked on AI and LLM-driven products. This blend of industry expertise and technical innovation makes us uniquely positioned to drive Personeo.ai forward.

What do you see as the primary shortcomings in the L&D industry?

A striking issue is that 80% of L&D budgets benefit only 1-5% of the workforce. External training programs are expensive, non-inclusive, and often one-off initiatives with minimal long-term impact — participants forget 90% of the material within a week. Traditional L&D relies heavily on passive, content-based learning, whereas we champion active, action-based training. We believe this approach leads to better retention and application.

What have been the biggest challenges in making Personeo.ai a reality?

Enterprise sales cycles and stringent security/compliance requirements posed initial challenges. To navigate this, we are now focusing more on midmarket businesses, which offer faster onboarding and fewer compliance hurdles.

We hope to pave the way for active, experience-based learning and transform the L&D market. Our goal is to set a new standard for learning and practicing through AI roleplays, moving away from passive methods like videos or online courses. We believe that AI roleplays, being more engaging, will help more people embrace continuous learning.
