The city though spread out, the efficient public transport system makes travel relatively easy and comfortable. And that comes from our own experience of three days while staying in Munich North. Also keep in mind while planning your trip that some top landmarks here have so much to offer that you would require at least half a day to do justice to them. Wish to check out how to enjoy the best spots in Munich. Then come let’s follow the ‘Walking Man’ through the green.

Karlsplatz (Stachus)

Karlsplatz more commonly known as Stachus is a large square which lies above the Karlsplatz underground S-Bahn and U-Bahn station. And if you are exiting from the Munich Hauptbahnhof Central station, it’s a short pleasant walk past some wonderful architectural masterpieces. Also the Big Bus hop-on-hop-off have their ticket and voucher exchange counter opposite the exit. And buses start from here as well.

We exchanged our vouchers first before heading to Karsplatz Square while exploring the lovely neighborhood. Be careful at the main square, follow the signs while crossing the streets and do keep a watch as the trams keep coming in from both sides. There are enough options for shopping in the square with branded shop and local outlets offering all variety of products including jewelry and mementos. Also coffee, cake shops and food parlors to relax and watch the city in action.

English Garden

Englischer Garten or English Garden is an urban park and one of the biggest in the world. It stretches from the city center to the northeastern city limits and is great for a long walk. We walked and relaxed a while before moving on.

Odeonsplatz

Odeonsplatz is named after Odeon the concert hall which existed there at one time. It is a large square with a church, monument and the royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria. It’s also a great place to relax after experiencing it all over some refreshers in one of the cafes.
